He shakes his head. “No, but the alpha wasn’t my only target. She told me to make sure that both you and the alpha have the drinks.”
What the hell?
“Me? What did I have to do with her plans?”
“I don’t know. She just told me to wait until you two were together before giving you the drinks.”
All this time, I thought that Alec was the target, and I was the unfortunate victim of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Now, he’s telling me that I was targeted by this mysterious woman, but why?
What was her end game? What did she gain by paying someone to drug us? And how was she sure that Alec and I would end up seated at the bar together?
