Chapter 17// Hospital Filler
"Melissa? Are you awake?" A deep voice asked from next to me.
I was in a hospital. I could tell by the frustrating beeping of my heart monitor. Several wires were connected to my body and I felt numb. I tried lifting my pinky, but it felt as if I was lifting a boulder with a feather. I tried prying my eyes open but they were sealed with some type of permanent bonding. Trying to open them was hurting like crazy.
"Melissa, you're worrying everyone." It was the same deep voice.
I wanted to open my eyes and tell them I'm alright. Tell my mom I'm fine, but most importantly ask them why I'm here. I don't remember much, and my body won't give me any hints. Mostly because I have absolutely no feeling. Where did my nerves go?
