"Melissa, you think you can just ditch us for months on months and sit with us at lunch like everything's okay? No young lady, that's not how it works."
That was the greeting I received when I sat at Brandon and Keith's table with a tray of burgers. I smiled sheepishly at Brandon and slid my tray over to him. "I brought a peace offering."
He picked up a burger and took a huge bite, scrunching up his nose in distaste. "Trying to bribe your way back to our table, eh?" Then he took another large bite. "Smart girl."
I smiled and turned to Keith giving him a nod.
Instead of nodding back he looked shocked. "Months of not speaking to us and you nod as your first greeting? No, you better get up and hug me," he said dramatically.
I sighed and got up to walk around
