O.B. opened the door to Avery’s apartment and literally dragged Chuck inside. Avery was sitting on the couch. Coco had been sitting on Avery’s lap. She jumped down and disappeared into the kitchen. Avery slowly got up.
“What’s this! You’re bringing your twink trick home to meet me?” Avery said, looking Chuck up and down.
“Holy cow!” Chuck said. “You’re Avery Turner, the sports guy on WQBX.” He turned to O.B. “You didn’t tell me your boyfriend was that Avery.”
“Avery, this is Chuck—uh, just Chuck,” O.B. said, realizing he didn’t know Chuck’s last name. “He’s the guy Neil saw me having dinner with last night.”
“I’ve already figured that out,” Avery said as he stood waiting with a this-better-be-good expression.
“Anyway,” O.B. continued, nudging Chuck forward. “Go on, tell him.”
