O.B. nervously paced the floor of his suite in the Westin. Avery’s plane would arrive in about a half hour. Up to that point O.B. had only had excited, happy anticipation for the moment he would hold Avery in his arms and announce, “I love you.” He’d never said those words to another person outside his family. No, that wasn’t exactly true. He’d said it lots of times in high school and college without meaning it, when he’d been trying to get some sexy chick to put out for him. That was before he’d come to the conclusion that he liked s*x with guys way more than with girls.
Then, once he’d made that discovery and the transition to s*x mainly with men, to say I love you to another guy seemed weird. So he never had used those words, never considered feeling anything close to love f
