ZAIN'S POV
Jace hurled the bottle of whiskey across the room, the glass hit the wall and shattered sending shards of glass everywhere the contents spilling, I sighed before leaving to get the maids.
It was obvious my best friend was overstimulated, his father left a lot of mess for us to clean up and I would be pissed if I were in his shoes.
After they cleaned up the mess I sat on his desk while he paced around, "Did you find out who's behind the attack?" He asked.
"We only have one enemy brave enough to pull that off, and you know we were already in crisis before Ronan died," I explained.
"So why haven't we found a way to get rid of these bastards?" He seethed.
"We will. For now, we need to focus on pressing issues" I concluded.
"Ivy can help you with these things" He remarked and I furrowed my brows.
"I don't see how she's going to help" I countered, she's only going to be a distraction to me now that she's back.
I rushed down to the cemetery when I heard she was back. I doubted she would come back for her father's funeral because they never had a good relationship.
Then I saw the unmistakable petite curvy figure, with light brown hair under a black hoodie, those beautiful emerald green eyes, a replica of gemstones, and those plum pink lips...
"She will be useful, she can help with getting married to one of the higher-ups, or help with operations. Can I trust you to handle that?" He asked and I nodded.
Sure.
He can trust you not to shove your d**k inside her, the small voice at the back of my mind said.
"I'm not so sure, she has been gone for a long time" I tried to discourage him but he waved off.
"It's Ivy we are talking about, she will pull through and she has you to help her with the ropes" He said.
I can't tell him I don't want to be put in a position where I have to be with Ivy, she's his little sister and no matter how much I want her I can't cross that line.
Even if we almost f****d, I'm pretty sure if we weren't interrupted that day...
"And she looks up to you, she will listen" Jace's voice snapped me out of my thoughts.
She doesn't look up to me, not the way he was thinking, we've always played a dangerous game waiting for the first person to break and this time I'm not so sure I would be able to hold back.
"Fine. I will take her with me tomorrow, but you will be the one to explain these things to her" I gave in.
"Just help me with that too, I will be finding a way to get rid of the Iron Saints. And after what they did I want them to sleep with one eye open, call Erick and tell him to burn down their villa" He ordered as the boss this time not as my best friend.
I nodded and called Erick after I left his study, I passed on his orders and mounted my bike, my gaze straying to her window.
Warmth filled my chest when I saw the light turned on in her room, for some reason Ivy coming back made the weight on my shoulders feel lighter, which is weird cause she's going to be a weakness.
Then I drove off, the wind whistling in my ear, my jacket pushed back and all the pressure I felt earlier today was gone, forgotten in the dust.
I got to the garage and just like I predicted Silas and the others were having a party, rage overwhelmed me but I kept a straight face shoving the drunk bastards out of the way. I found Silas on the couch with two women hanging on his arms.
"Zain! You didn't tell me-"
I didn't let him finish, grabbing his collar my fist connected to his jaw a sickening crack followed and the women gasped scurrying off, the music was cut off and I punched the fucker again.
He spat out blood choking as I strangled him.
"Pl...please" He begged, his face blood-coated, his nose crooked at an unusual angle.
"We were attacked at the funeral today, we needed back up and you were here planning a party. We lost five men!" I snarled and the rest moved back, Silas's grip on my hand loosened the light slowly fading from his eyes.
I let him go and he fell down on the ground with a loud thump, I wiped my hands with the napkin on the table and tossed it aside.
Taking a look at what they had turned the place into, Jace would lose his s**t if he had followed me here and this is on me. I gave them the freedom to do whatever they want here and these parties were a way to blow off steam but we can't be so relaxed when Iron Saints are out for blood.
"Erick will be needing assistance with taking care of the Iron Saints after what they did today. We need to send a message, now get your ass moving! You come with me" I pointed at one of them.
I headed for the armory that was back of the garage, after typing the passcode I raised the door and he followed me inside.
After getting what I wanted we left, I returned to find Silas on the couch they had called the doctor for him.
"Good, now which one of you distributed the crates last week?" I asked, corking my gun.
Quinn stood up and I shot his leg, ignoring his cries.
"The next time any one of you messes things up I will take you to the boss and this will be little compared to what will happen to you" I warned sternly.
"Is that understood?"
"Yes!"
They all answered in unison looking ready to wreak havoc and that was exactly what I wanted.
