“That went well,” Paul said as he drove them home. Ren stared at the side of his face and smiled.
Yeah, it went well…better than he thought it would go.
Tonight was…Ren took a deep breath as he thought of their date. Okafu had been relaxed around him for the first time ever since he came back into her life. Today he got a glimpse of the old Okafu – all brave and strong.
She will come back to me, Ren thought. All he had to do was be patient. Eventually he’ll have everything he’s ever wanted. And he’ll do anything to have it.
Mr J filtered into his mind, and Ren couldn’t wait to get his hands on him. The desire to do just that filled him. Ren closed his hands into fists at his sides.
