"thank you dad, the ceremony went smoothly."
"Of course son, but we still need to make another announcement now don't we?" I grinned at dad and went up the stage.
That deformed runt needs to die. She has caused so much trouble in our pack, my dad told me she killed his sister. That is a crime that is dealt with aggressively, and apart from that, her features are disgusting.
She's probably a siren, I don't know how she even got into our pack. Only Sirens and Dragons have scales, but she's not a Dragon.
She's weak, puny, thin skin that is easily bruised. She could never be a dragon, and that is why she's being killed today.
"Everyone, we are about to witness the execution of a troublemaker among us today. The siren has caused us pain and sorrow, murdering our closest people, and the mere presence of the creature is infuriating. She hasn't even shifted yet, pathetic. As expected from such an abomination" Everyone chuckled.
"Come forward runt" Could she have left? No, she wouldn't be able to get close to the excellent guards.
"I SAID COME FORWARD" So she didn't even respond to my Alpha voice.
Astrid came to me. "She's not here, she left" What? she must have a death wish. It's against the rules to leave the Alpha's ceremony. Who does she think she is!? I'm the wealthiest man in this pack, and her mate.
"Look for her" I said.
I went to the pack house to look for her. 'What a b***h. She thinks she has the power to defy me'
I went to her room. "Come out you b*tch! I know you're here."
Nothing. There was nothing in the room. Not even a shoe. I saw 2 pieces of paper on the bed.
The first one was a seal. Of the Winter academy.
'no way! she's too weak to survive there'
The second one was a...letter?
I read it. When I was about to hide it, it got ripped out of my hands.
By Astrid. Now, the whole pack was in the room.
"What does she mean her mate?" That's all she cares about? she's not at all sad that her sister is gone.
"There's nothing to worry about.
We'll just send a letter to them that we're her pack and we would like her to visit for a period of time, then we'll kill her. Besides, her mate probably rejected her. She has nothing to live for anymore"
It's best that they don't know who her mate is.
At the academy

"And that's the end of the tour. Did you get everything, or was it too much?" It wasn't as bad as I thought. It was big, really big but, considering that I've walked from home to my school which is 20 miles, I wasn't tired.
"Yes, thank you for the tour" I said smiling.
"You're welcome. It's exciting that we'll have a girl in our class."
This academy is is actually for multiple positions. Some are for night crawlers, those that spy and kill at night, they are able to cover their scents easily, and their trained to be so quiet, there won't be a change in the environmental sounds.
Others are for beta training and the likes. It's called winter academy because it was mainly for winters, night crawlers and training camps.
"Is it really that exciting?"
"Of course, you're the first girl to fill in for a winter position" I got embarrassed.
"That's flattering. I don't know your name, do you want to tell me?"
"Oh, it's Leon" How nice.
"Okay, nice to meet you Leon" I stuck my hand out and he shook it.
"I feel like a big brother the way you're looking at me." Well, he is very tall and I'm very short.
"Well, w-would you like to be my big brother?" He looked shocked, then happy.
"Of course I would, even if you don't pass this class, starting from today, I Leon prince, declare myself as your big brother" I just laughed.
"Thank you Leon, can we eat together at lunch? I want to know you more" He agreed and we entered the class.
"Okay so remember the procedure, there's a line, and they ask you to put your hand on that big thing over there," he pointed towards a big round ball, as big as a cabin. "and then your power is revealed" he said.
"Um, Leon...does the process require me to have already shifted?" I'm worried. What if I don't even have a creature?
"Of course not, it's to see how much power you have, and you can tell beforehand which animal you have."
"Oh ok, thank you Leon" I smiled. He smiled back, then we joined the line.
"Well Mr. Leon, you are a 3rd rank, also known as Alpha. Congratulations" He grinned, so wide I thought his face was going to split.
"Thank you sir" Then he moved to the side with the others who have checked their ranks.
"The next student please" I walked in.
There was a man there that looked 30, but looks aren't always everything. All creatures are immortals, unless they get killed...apart from dragons, there is nothing that could kill them, apart from losing their mate.
"Oh, a pleasure to meet you. Miss Arabella I presume?"
"Yes sir" I thought he was going to be strict, but he's very nice.
"My name is John Falon, I'll be your teacher for this year" He smiled.
"it's a pleasure to meet you too sir"
"Now, place your hand on the orb please" I placed my hand on the orb, and it glowed. It glowed brighter than Leon's, but it kept glowing and the numbers on the scale were increasing.
"S-sir, is it supposed to behave like this?" He quickly stepped forward checking the scale, before widening and ushering me to get my hand off.
"You can remove your hand now" I removed it and it went back to it's original form.
"Miss Bella please follow me, to my office" I followed him.
"Have you shifted yet?"
"No sir" I was scared now. Was my mana low?
"And you've never done any sort of magic before?"
"No sir"
"Interesting..." He mumbled, rubbing his beard after taking off his glasses.
