"It’s a surprise.” Aaron said, then took my hand and led me up the stairs to his apartment. Even though we were in the stairway of his building, just the simple act of holding my hand in a public place made my pulse react. Would he ever do this on the street? Was he strong enough to deal with the funny looks, and outright hostility we might encounter? Whatever ended up happening between us, I knew the inevitable had already occurred.
