Xavier watched as Venus took a step away from him. He realized that she intended to run to the opposite side of the clearing. The problem was if she did that then she’d be able to escape the pack before he could catch up to her.
“No! Stop!” It was too late, she’d already made a run for it. Venus sprinted for about thirty seconds before she transformed back into Kiara. She knew the risk, if she stayed in her wolf form she was likely to hurt or even kill an innocent. She didn’t want something like that on her conscience. Completing her first shift had zapped her of all of her energy and strength, she felt exhausted and light headed on top of it. She had come to the decision that she would go hunting once she made it out of the territory, that way she wouldn’t inadvertently hurt anyone.
