31 Griffin slipped quietly out of the truck and loped toward the driveway of the cabin. He spotted the outline of Serena’s head in the driver’s seat right away. Scanning the cabin for signs of the bad guy, all he saw was a shadow passing a window—coming right for the front door. Damn it. That didn’t give him enough time to get to the Toyota. He’d have to make a run for it and hope the dude didn’t have a gun. A stupid assumption given that he probably had some kind of weapon to get Serena to go with him.
