28 Everyone else was already gathered in the solarium when Griffin made it back inside. Kai was propped against the wall, arms folded over his chest in a defensive posture. The fire station was his pet project, and Griffin knew he’d fight for it. As a rescue paramedic, he still saw the lodge as mostly a stopping-off point for skiers and adventurers who might need saving.
