Only upon arriving did Kevin realize it was an abandoned warehouse.
"Why are you waiting outside? Isn't Hailey inside?"
Howard grabbed Kevin's arm. "There are people inside watching her—four or five of them. I came in a hurry without backup."
He then glanced in the direction Kevin had come from, his brow furrowing.
After a moment's thought, Kevin said, "You go get her out. I'll draw them away."
When Howard tried to protest, Kevin cut him off, "She'd rather you be the one to save her."
Then he strode toward the warehouse without looking back.
Left with no choice, Howard followed. Every minute Hailey stayed inside put her in greater danger.
