‘It was a hit and run incident!’ continues Ellie. ‘The police told my dad that two witnesses saw a lime-green coloured car swerve a few times in the road and then mount the pavement and hit my mum and her friend as they stood at a bus stop. The driver of the car then raced off without anyone getting his registration number because it all happened so fast. My mum’s friend had her two young boys with her at the time, but they weren’t hit, and their mother survived after a short spell in hospital.’
