Alice and Grayson stood face to face. Tension flowed between them.
“Hello, Alice,” he said. “I see you’re still playing with dolls.”
“The witch plays with demons. She comes for us,” she said. Her doll bounced from one foot to the other, then ran in and out of the group.
“Yes, well. Good to know you are just as morbid as ever,” said Grayson.
“You’d do right to listen to the crazy loon,” said Bonedread. “I may not like her either, but she hasn’t been wrong yet.” Grayson studied the goblin.
“These are my friends,” said Max. He proceeded to introduce everyone. When he got to the Gooch brothers, he pushed in between them and wrapped his arms around their shoulders. “This is Tommy, Davi and Snoop Gooch.”
“Gooch. Are you related to Penley?” asked Grayson.
“He’s our father,” said Tommy.
