Wunder stepped out of the shadows. “You humans are the most destructive and annoying creatures I have ever met.” He wagged a finger in the air. “And the most resilient and stubborn creatures I have ever come across. I will give you that.”
“Wh-What’s going on? That’s not Wunder’s voice,” said Davi.
“Very good, child,” he said. “Nice to see you’ve been paying attention.”
Max stiffened. “It’s Orlath. He took over Wunder when he let Tommy go.” To the half giant he said, “What are you doing here? How did you find us?”
Wunder shrugged his shoulders. “I have my ways.”
