Milo and the Spriggan trudged through Eldham. Their pace was slow due to the high winds and the snow drifts. Milo had to stop more than once to dig the Spriggan out. After the third time, he lifted the Spriggan onto his back. “I wish Max were here. Walking through Eldham was so much easier with the paths he made,” said the Spriggan. He bounced. Milo stumbled. “I see smoke up ahead. We are not far from Bertha’s cabin.” Milo grunted a reply as his foot sank down into the snow. He was sweating and out of breath by the time he reached the front porch. A rush of freezing wind slammed against the cabin, turning the sweat into a teeth chattering chill.
