Chapter 3
Stella read the notes from the interviews Grant Semmler and Cassie King had given to the initial investigators in the thirty five minutes it took Brian to drive them across country from Spalding to Burra.
They grabbed a quick lunch at the Burra Bakery and then followed the directions Grant had given them out to his house.
Semmler's house was at the end of a long driveway lined with gum trees. When they reached the end of the driveway they found themselves in a dirt yard bordered by a house, a shed containing three vehicles, and a cold storage unit with a padlock on its door.
'Man, pretty quiet out here,' said Brian. 'Talk about living in the middle of nowhere.'
'Guess it must have its good points, Brian, but you're right. Too isolated for me.'
