Knox The door bangs shut behind me with more vigour than I wanted. The noise echoes in the hallway and I can feel it in my teeth. I stand there frozen for two full seconds, still gripping the doorknob with my hand, breathing out of my nose as though I’m not supposed to be disturbing anything. The house smells like coffee and vanilla scent of Gina and a hint of Emma’s coconut body wash that lingers on the air from when she walked past me not long ago.
