Emma “Please, let me go,” I plead as his grip on me grows tighter with each ticking seconds. The weight of the options given to me suffocates me. “I will type the pages.” He breaks into a tight smile, loosening his grip on me. I stagger back but catch my steps in time. The files almost slip from my grasp, I quickly hold the files firmly, drawing them closer to my chest. Clutching the files as though they are a lifeline I can't allow to slip away, I stand frozen. “It's a good thing you made the perfect choice,” his eyes gleaming in satisfaction. With his back turning against me, he continues. “This is the last chance. If you ruin it, I'll have no choice but to kick you out. Now leave!” The harshness in his tone sends me hurrying out of his office with the files clutched to my chest.
