Kitty, Georgiana and I found ourselves sitting with Florry and a pair of housemaids, to whom Georgiana introduced us — I believe their names were Ursula (she seems to be Florry’s sister) and Margaret, if you can credit that. We discussed the coming wedding, but I will have to be honest with you: their Derbyshire accents were so marked that Kitty and I could understand at best one word in three — even Florry’s. This amused them terribly. At one point, I believe Georgiana (who could understand them better) was talking with them about Thomasina’s galvanic post. At least, I believe that’s what they were discussing. In any case, it caused much mirth.
