How can she say that Xen is not expensive!? Golds are quite hard to acquire and so is paper money.

1 Xen = 10 years of living expenses. That's how important and expensive Xen is.

Gold coins cannot be exchanged into paper money (Xen) because Xen is much more important than any coins. So gold, silver, and copper are nothing but trash for a few noble families. As far as I remember, only Royalty, Grand Duke, Duke, can have a Xen. The reason why Xen is important is because of its way of being created.

Xen is a little piece of mana, energy, and life span of a person. Mana is different from energy. Because mana is what a magician uses while energy is what a warrior use. And the lifespan is from the people who make Xen.

So to collect all of the pieces and put them together. Only Duke and higher ranks can create Xen.

Father also creates Xen but he only makes a few of it, because it is making his health at stake. So making a Xen can be termed as Selling your Life to a Devil. And the only head of the families can do that. And by creating a Xen, you can only create it once a year with approximately 100,000 Xen. But that is if your body can take it.

For us summoners, we use our mana combined with our lifespan. While if you are a warrior, you need to use energy and lifespan.

Xen revolves around the court and kingdom matters/problems. Such as you can offer it to another kingdom to have a peace treaty. And other nobles would use it to what they want but of course, they cannot get away from their taxes.

10 Xen per year.

The king is good enough to take 10 Xen per year. And the most exciting part is you can pay gold coins if you cannot pay Xen as a noble tax.

Not paying Xen as a noble tax to the royalty is reasonable. Since the heads of the families are old enough so their life might be put to an end. In short, they might die if they are forced to pay their noble tax.

Although paying with gold coins is a bit expensive. 900,000 gen.

And having 500,000 is not impossible at all, that is if the creator is strong enough.

"Is it really fine to give me something like this?" I said, it too much for someone like me gaahh...

"It's fine, I gave the other one to Liz too. And we bought it for 500,000 Xen and we got 5 of that."

Although my family is wealthy, my father is really stingy when it comes to something like this.
