Chapter 14
She woke up to a crash. It was about seven in the morning, meaning she had overslept and she pulled herself from her bed, picking up her cat. Her mother seemed to not be there that morning. She was alone.
As she went down the stairs, she found the glass window of her store broken. Her heart leapt into her throat. She put her cat down and pulled the hem of her sweater down. She looked around at the damage, trying to keep herself calm
If there was another body in her store, she was going to lose it.
She reached over, grabbed her cordless phone. She stared at it, realizing that she didn't know Liam's cellphone number.
So, she dialed the sheriff's station, doing so as she stared at the glass on her floor. She wasn't sure how she would be able to see if anything else was gone. S
