Chapter Five

Kai's pov The distant sound of my ticking clock and the warmth of the early morning sun tugged at my consciousness, rousing me from my deep slumber. With my eyes latched, I turned, stretching my hand to feel the soft body of the woman I had returned with last night. But my eyebrows kissed each other, forming into a deep frown when my palm felt the silk of my bedspread. I snapped my eyes open and, to my dismay, the woman was not beside me. My eyes scanned the room, looking for any traces of her, but there was nothing–not even her scent. "f**k," I muttered, sitting up with a throbbing head. Lifting my hands, they found my temples and massaged them in a bid to ease the bastard headache that was on the verge of splitting my head into two. "I didn't even get to know where she came from." I seethed, pushing myself up and striding into the bathroom. Peeling off my briefs, I stepped under the shower and warm pellets of water gushed out of the faucet, easing my muscles and nerves as they soaked up my hair and kneaded my scalp. Squeezing my eyes shut, pictures of last night flashed in my head and my c**k hardened, standing like the Eiffel Tower. I laced the soap around my hard-on and stroked it, remembering what it felt like to be buried deep in her tight untouched cunt, as she milked every drop of my c*m. The scent of her slick still lingered in the air, so potent it made me dizzy with lust as my c**k leaked with pre-c*m, the movement of my wrist harder and faster. Fuck, she was perfect. Passionate as she screamed out her pleasure when my c**k raked over the spot inside her that lit her up. I parted my lips to moan out her name, but when nothing slipped out of my mouth, I snapped it shut and bile rushed up my throat–I didn't know her name. Instantly, my c**k went limp and my jaw ticked. After having my bath and dressing up, I walked out of my room and headed to the reception to check out. "Good day, sir," A raven-haired girl, who appeared to be in her early twenties greeted me with her head tilted towards the ground as if to be in fear. With a slight wave of my hand, I dismissed her greeting and signed onto the book, checking myself out. 'What if the receptionist had seen the mysterious girl on her way out?' My wolf chirped in and hope sprouted in my stomach. Before my head could process what to say, the words flew out of my mouth, "Where did she go?" The receptionist raised her head, her brows furrowing at my question. "Who, Sire?" "The girl I had come in with," I growled, close to slamming my fist into the wall. I had never felt this possessive in my life. Never felt the urge to break something because of some lowly Omega who somehow turned out to be my fated mate. "She had walked out of the hotel two hours a-" "f**k!" I banged my fist on the table and she flinched, cowering into her corner. Anger brewed in my stomach as I raked my fingers through my hair, marching out of the hotel. *** "I can't do this," I said as I pushed the file away from me and reclined in my seat, shutting my eyes in frustration. Letting out an audible breath, my stomach clenched when her heated and innocent expression flashed in my head. My chest constricted, compressing my heart. "Why can't I get you out of my head?" I asked no one in particular as I shook my head, trying to dispel every thought of the mysterious girl from my head. I forced my eyes open and sat up, picking up a pencil and a sharpener from a cup that sat on my dark-brown desk. Sticking the pencil into the sharpener, a sensation washed over me and I shivered when all I could see was her glistening core. Unbearably hot, wet and luscious. My c**k hardened, twitching under my pants as I rolled the pencil. The sound of the sharpener suddenly turned to the wet and squishy sounds of her leaking cunt as I sheathed myself to the hilt inside her body, and her needy moans and whimpers filled my head. "Get out of my head!" I threw the pencil and sharpener on the floor and lowered my head to the desk. Going to the club was a bad idea, she had added to the list of my frustrations and my wolf wasn't making it any easier. He had been howling and yearning for his mate, which was draining the s**t out of me. Repeatedly, I hit my head on the desk with clenched teeth, trying to force away my hard-on. I had been sitting in my study and trying to sort out some paperwork but I couldn't because my brain didn't want to stop showing me images of my mate. "Sire?" My most trusted guard called from the other side of the door before the sound of the wooden barrier creaking open filled my ears. "Is everything okay?" "Get me Ryker," I ordered without raising my head. "Tell him to await my arrival at the training ground and he should come prepared." That said, the sound of my door closing alerted me that I was left alone once again. "Maybe if I did something like swordplay, it'd get her out of my head." I pushed my head back and rose to my feet. Storming out of my blue study, I headed for the training ground. On arriving there, I sighted my best friend, who was already seated on the bench gripping a sword loosely in his hands. "Hey, Kai." Ryker started, jutting his chin towards the retreating figure of the guard that I had sent to summon him. "Hunter said you called for me. You want to get your ass beaten by me because you're too cocky to get yourself a mistress to do it. Hmm?" I grunted in response, picking up my sword and tightening my grip around it. "Shut up." "Alright then, may the best man win." Ryker flexed his muscles and I did the same thing, taking my battle stance. Walking around in circles with our swords held high, we locked gazes like a pair of magnets. Ryker struck, but I countered his attack with my sword raised in the air and the blades let out shrill cries when they made contact with each other. Grinning, I pushed Ryker away from my space and arched my brows. "Is that all you've got?" Ryker's orange eyebrows fused into a frown and he dashed towards me, jumping in the air. I dodged his attack by moving to the right and I welcomed the adrenaline pumping through my veins. Maybe it'd clear my head. He swung his hand again, and I blocked his attack with my sword. Our blades clanged each time they kissed each other. I growled, raising my hand and striking Ryker's sword. My sword vibrated in my hand and a small smile played at the corners of my lips when I drove my knee to his stomach and he crouched, giving me the opportunity to kick his sword out of his hands. "Hey, that's unfair, " Ryker whined as his blue eyes flashed displeasure. I pointed the sword against his heaving chest and he held his hands up in mock surrender. "Pick up your sword, cunt," I said and my eyes danced in silent laughter at his misery. Arching a brow, he asked, "Does this make you feel good?" His question caused my heart to sink into my stomach when I remembered the girl from last night asking the same thing before she pushed my fat c**k into her mouth. My d**k grew so f*****g hard it physically hurt. "s**t!" I cussed, appalled that every little thing reminded me of her like a stupid teenage boy getting his first taste of the beauty of s*x. Ryker picked up his blade and we began to fight again. I swung my blade in the air and it made a swishing sound before it connected to his blade. "How's handling trouble from the other pack going?" Ryker asked, spinning around to kick my calf. My leg buckled, but I straightened them and ducked when he threw a punch with his free hand. "Stressful," I seethed, clenching my teeth. I had been overseeing the Dark Wand Pack because they rebelled against me, causing a thousand and one problems for me. They even went as far as plying to the Lycan council for their pack to be removed from the rule of the Throne of Afrikstan. "What about the other mission?" He asked again, jumping up when I slid my leg towards his in a bid to knock him off his feet. "Did your beta return with the Key?" A lump sat and clawed at the dry walls of my throat. I had sent my beta to retrieve a book that was the solution to the problems we were facing in my kingdom, but I hadn't heard from him since the day he drove along to the Golden Circle Pack. Just two more days and if he was still radio silent, I would have to take law into my own hands. "No word from him, he never returned," I finally replied, slamming my hard blade against his with every frustration boiling in my core. "And it irks the s**t out of me." I struck again, sending Ryker to stagger backward as I continued to attack him with my throat and lungs burning with anger. Anger overtook my senses as I swung my blades at Ryker as if he was the cause of my problems. "Kai!" He exclaimed, but I was too deep in the void that my head had created to stop launching at him. "What the f**k man?" At this rate, from the farthest part of my mind, I knew I could hurt him...hell, even kill him. He moved back, blocking my last attack with shaky hands and the blade of his knife shattered in pieces, clattering about the field. His racing pulse music to my ears, I raised my sword again, about to strike before an ear-splitting shout caused me to freeze mid-action. "My king, there is trouble!" One of my maids screamed, dashing into the sparring ground with a crimson face. "The Alpha of the Golden Circle Pack had been murdered...by his own daughter!"
