Chapter 37 The assault was supposed to start at midnight. She was in the van with Dmitri by eleven, hidden in the back while he set up his equipment. Adrian thought she was at the penthouse, safe behind locked doors and security systems. She hated lying to him. But she hated the idea of him dying while she sat at home even more. "He's going to kill me when he finds out," Dmitri muttered, not looking up from his screens. "You know that, right?" "He'll have to get in line behind Nadia." "Nadia's the one who told me to bring you." Dmitri pushed his glasses up. "Said you needed to be here in case things went sideways. She doesn't trust everyone on this op." "Do you?" He was quiet for a moment. "I trust the people I've worked with for years. Viktor, Nadia, Adrian. The rest?" He shrugged.
