They drove until they hit the coast. Georgia. Small beach town with more tourists than locals, the kind of place where people came and went without leaving impressions.
Perfect for disappearing.
Adrian rented a small house three blocks from the beach. Cash again, fake names, no questions. The landlord was happy to have winter renters when most people wanted summer leases.
The house was modest. Two bedrooms, small kitchen, living room with windows facing the ocean. But it was clean. Safe. And most importantly, it was theirs.

"We can't stay long," Adrian said as they unpacked their minimal belongings. "A few weeks at most. Long enough to rest and plan our next move."
