My running sneakers slap against the wet road as I run through the pouring rain. It started coming down hard when I reached Main Street. I have two more miles of this s**t before I get home. Rush E is playing vigorously in my AirPods as I run through the streets of Hellbourne without looking back.
I can't stop, I'm jumping over cars and trash cans. The faster the song goes the more I push myself. A jolt of excitement rushes through me as it hits its peak. A laugh erupts out of me as I skid to a stop in front of the Blackstone iron gate. I hunch over putting my hands on my thighs as I try to catch my breath.
