I was truly hopeful that Sam and I would be able to patch things up. Her eyes were cold. They were not the same eyes that used to greet me in the mornings. She must have been through a lot in the human town. I had pleaded with her to stop cleaning peoples homes for a leaving but she refused. I couldn't fault her but the issue was that she wasn't making enough to care for herself or the twins. I tried to get Elisabeth to take money from me to care for them but Elisabeth told me that Sam would refuse her help too. This was a discussion we would have to have eventually.
