Elijah POV I knocked on the cabin door, feeling cold. It wasn’t just the snow and the bitter evening wind- Ambrosia hadn’t spoken with me since I’d returned. Two days had passed- I’d given her plenty of space and it was time to get firm with her. The door opened on its own, to my surprise. The house was pitch black and freezing- the fire had burned out to mere embers. “Ambrosia?” I called, feeling anxiety grip my chest. There was rustling from her bedroom, and I passed through the living room at record speed. She was bundled up tightly in her comforter, and a blanket that had a cord running to the wall.
