Chapter 8

Isabella POv

The first couple bars we walked into weren't really my scene. The first one we went to, we actually sat down and had a drink. Then we left to the next bar and immediately walked out, it was totally dead and not to my standards. I didn’t take anything less than what I was worth.

But the third place, club Flash, I was totally into. We walked in and there was already a crowd. We hadn’t had enough alcohol for me to get on the dance floor. We walked up to the bar and ordered our first round of shots, which I was going to pay for per our bowling deal. Tequila was my specialty.

After we had our round of shots and a cocktail, I decided to hit the dance floor with both Danny and Alex.I thought about getting closer to Alex, but I didn’t want to push it.

Shots by LMFAO came on, and I was going crazy in an instant. I didn’t have a care in the world as I danced to each song next to Danny and Alex. After we had our first couple rounds of shots and drinks, there were plenty of guys sending us plenty of either.

I started making my way back to the dance floor when the song Dancing with a stranger by Sam smith started playing. I have been obsessed with this song for a little while, I looked over at Danny who had a sneaky grin plastered to her face. And this is why she is my best friend! She leaned over to me,”are you ready to head to the next place after this song?” She asked,”Definitely!” I replied.

I inhaled and suddenly, the smell smell f petrichor mixed with pine and sandalwood sent me into a haze. I started to frantically look around me when I felt a presence behind me, sending a shiver down my spine.

I turn around to see the sexiest man alive. He wore black dress shoes, black slacks, and a white button-down shirt with the sleeves rolled up to his bulging biceps. He has luscious black hair that was slicked back into a man bun and looking up at him makes me realize he has to be well over six feet tall. My eyes finally lock with his gorgeous chocolate brown eyes and I’m mesmerized.

I’m stuck in a daze when he leans over to speak in my ear,” May I dance with you?” He asks me with a playful tone. I pull my head back to absorb those beautiful deep brown eyes again and nod enthusiastically.

Axel POV

We approached club Flash and I could hear that the party was already under way. This was a mostly human city, so no one here knew me as Alpha Axel Castillo. I was just like anybody else, which momentarily excited me.

We stepped into the club when I inhaled the most intoxicating scent of honey and vanilla bean.

“MINE” I heard in my mind as Aztec growled. My mate is here, finally, after all this time! I use my acute sense of smell to follow the scent of my mate. I’m approaching the dance floor when I see where the scent is coming from.

I see a tall and slender girl with curves to die for. Her back is to me, so all I can see is her golden honey brown hair swaying back and forth above her plump a**. I stood a couple feet away, in disbelief, just watching her. She leaned forward a bit to talk to some blonde girl dancing across from her. I couldn’t help but watch the back of her tight dress pull up just a bit, I look around to make sure no one else is staring at what’s mine. I willed her with my mind to turn around, but had no such luck.

My mate is human? The Goddess is really testing my limits here. First, waiting for the longest time to find my mate and now I have to deal with the fact that she is human. Of course, I would never go against the Moon Goddess’ plan. Whether this girl is human or not, the Moon Goddess chose her for me, she is my other half. I will do anything and everything to make this work.

After impatiently waiting for her to turn around, I decided to make the first move. As I approached her I noticed her body tense as she sensed my presence. She starts looking around frantically, but then realizes I’m behind her and slowly turns towards me. My breath hitches in my throat as I take her in. Her beautiful brown locks captured her round face perfectly. Her round hazel eyes were wide as she scanned me up and down. I moved my gaze down to her full rose pink lips and had to resist the urge to capture them with mine. I wandered down to her chest and noticed her perfect cleavage being pushed up by the tightness of her dress. And just like from behind, her curves could kill me.

Since she was human and couldn’t sense the bond, yet, I had to take it slow with her. I decided to simply ask her to let me dance with her. I wouldn’t be able to handle watching her wiggle her beautiful body on any other male. I leaned in closer to her to make sure she could hear me over the music,” May I dance with you?” I playfully asked her. I was overcome with disappointment when she backed away without answering me. I locked onto those mesmerizing orbs of hers when she excitedly shook her head ‘yes’!
