Chapter 13

Axel POV

We left Sunny’s and headed straight for the packhouse. Alpha Raymond would be there within the hour with his daughter and I had to make sure to be there to intercept them. I don’t think I was in the right mindset to be advocating for mates being together, but I had to for my best friend.

I was sitting there in my office desk chair, pulling on my lip, deep in thought when I received a mindlink from the border patrol.

Alpha, Alpha Raymond and his daughter have just arrived, I heard in my head from Zach, captain of the northern border.

Thanks, Zach, let them through. I’ll intercept them at the entrance of the packhouse.

I mindlinked Anthony, although I’m sure he’s already aware that his mate is here.

I figured, meet me at the entrance of the packhouse to greet them.

And with that, I got up from my chair and left my office to greet them.

As soon as Alpha Raymond and his entourage showed up, Selena bolted out of the car and nearly knocked Anthony over while hugging him.

I smiled at my beta as a big grin appeared on his face. As long as we’ve known each other, I have never seen him smile like that.

I greeted Alpha Raymond while they got reacquainted. I wanted Alpha Raymond to be comfortable leaving Selena with us, so I personally showed them both around the pack grounds. The entire time we walked around, the Alpha had a blank expression on his face. Not that I cared, but he didn’t seem impressed with anything I showed them. I just wanted some glimpse that he’s not going to rip these mates apart again.

Speaking of mates, I miss mine terribly. Even though she didn’t know it yet, I would move heaven and earth for her. I wish I had more of something to go on to find her, she seemed like one of a kind.

I was ripped from my thoughts of my beautiful mate by Selena,” Alpha Axel? Are you okay?” She asked politely. Alpha Raymond stepped away to have a word with Anthony. I looked up into her vibrant blue eyes that had a concerned look. I checked around us to make sure nobody would be listening, I wasn't exactly ready to tell anyone how I let my mate slip me by.

I began, in a hushed tone,”I found my mate last night when we went out.”

“Oh! That’s wonderful! Well, why do you look so sad?” She tilted her head to the side and asked.

“We had a moment, but she left before I got her name or phone number. I believe she’s human.”

“Oh dear. And humans can be finicky things, can’t they?”

I chuckled,”I said the same thing,” she laughed. I think I like this girl for Anthony, he’s kind of rough around the edges. Having her as a mate will loosen him up.

“If you don’t mind me asking, you don’t remember anything about her that could help track her down?” I thought hard about this question before answering.

“Not really,” I replied with a frown.” I remember how she made me feel and how she tasted, but I didn’t pay attention to any other details as we were kind of hot and busy” I said awkwardly as I rubbed the back of my neck.

“I have a few friends in the witch community. They have this herb mixture that they can have you drink. It takes you back to the memory deep in your subconscious with guidance. Maybe if you tried it, you could spot something that might help?”

“I’m honestly willing to try anything.”

”I’ve got you then, I’ll give my friend a call right now.” She replied with a wink.

Alpha Raymond left after dinner. By then Selena was able to reach out to her witch contacts and have somebody come to guide me through this subconscious journey.

I had both Selena and the witch, whose name was Celeste, situated in my living space. I was shirtless in the middle of a circle of candles. She brought me the herbal mixture as a tea.

“Here, Alpha, drink this and we will begin,” she said and handed me a small ceramic cup with steam floating above it,” I will need to ask you a few questions before we proceed. First, what memory are we looking to dive into?”

“I met my mate last night and we mated… but not before I knew her name. By the time I looked up, she had walked out the door. I tried to follow her scent to track her down, but once I stepped outside of the club, it disappeared along with my mate.”

“I see, so you want to find out if there’s any details on her that could help you find her?”

“Yes, ma’am.” I replied as I sipped on the tea.

She clapped her hands together and rubbed them up and down,”Well I’m glad this is so easy. Since this memory just happened last night it won’t be too difficult to pull it out. I would usually use this to help people pull out long lost memories deep in the subconscious. This will be a breeze.”

“Well I’m glad to hear it.” I finally said after drinking the last drop. I handed the cup back to Celeste.

“Alright, you just stay seated there. I’m going to sit in front of you and put my fingers on your temples. You’ll be pulled into your subconscious to the memory and it will be like you’re really there again. Which means, it will keep going at the pace it’s going, you will not be able to stop and stare while focusing on a detail. So for that reason, I will keep replaying it until you hopefully get something.” I nodded my head in reply. She stepped into the circle and stood on her knees in front of me. She dipped her fingers into a bowl of some liquid to the side of the circle and then placed them on my temples. She started chanting something and I was pulled into a dark abyss.

I open my eyes to find myself at the entrance of club Flash. ‘Here we go,’I mentally say to myself. I walk into the club and catch my mates scent, I practically start drooling. It seems the memory is in fast motion, I headed straight for the dance floor where I know I will find my mate. The song Dancing with a Stranger came on and I smiled to myself as I saw my mates excited face. I proceeded to walk up to her from behind while checking her a** out. She turns around and I ask her to dance with me.

When she backs away from me, I give her a quick scan to see if anything pops out to me. My eyes are traveling back up to her face when I catch a glimpse of a necklace hanging around her neck. It looked like it could be a name in cursive. Yes! That’s exactly it! I’ve seen girls wearing necklaces with their names on them before. Hers was gold and seemed to spell out a name with at least five or six letters. I tried to focus on it, but couldn’t with the flashing lights. Hence the name of the club, Flash.

Finally, she starts to grind up on me and starts teasing me. Next thing I knew, she’s pulling me to the bathroom where we’re going to have the hottest s**. I’ve been with a decent amount of females, but none of them compared to my beautiful mate. I was even more turned on by the fact that she wanted me just as much as I wanted her.

As soon as the door is closed and locked, I have her up against the door while I’m devouring her mouth. I pick her up by her thighs and take her to the counter while we continue to devour each other. I pulled back to open her top dress buttons when I noticed the necklace again. I focused on it, but only got the first three letters before I was capturing her n****e into my mouth. I-s-a we’re the letters.

Thankfully this is my first playback and would hopefully get the rest next time.

After the 3rd playback, I had all the letters. Her name is Isabella. Finally hearing her name made Aztec purr in the back of my mind. Although I’m enjoying reliving this memory with my beautiful Isabella, I needed to get back so my trackers could find her. They’re very proficient with tracking on the internet as well.

As if the witch heard my thoughts, the memory fell away to darkness and then I opened my eyes.

“Well, it looks like you got what you needed!” She said and began to blow out the candles.

“Thank you so much, Celeste! I really appreciate you doing this.” I stood and started out of my living area. I looked over to her and she nodded. I mindlinked Dimitri.

Dimitri, I found out the name of my mate.

Alright, I’ll check it out. What’s our future Lina’s name?
