Moonlit Bond

Chapter 1

Kala busied herself in the kitchen, preparing dinner for the family's arrival. She had been hired as a live-in housekeeper a week ago, and she was still getting used to the new surroundings. The kitchen was spacious and well-equipped, with large windows that let in plenty of natural light.

As she chopped vegetables and stirred the pot, she thought about the new members of the household she would be meeting soon. The family had been kind to her during the interview, but she couldn't shake off the feeling of nervousness.

The door opened, and a tall, brooding figure walked in. Kala's eyes met his for a brief moment, and she felt a shiver run down her spine. He seemed to radiate an aura of quiet intensity. His eyes were piercing, and his dark hair was messy, as if he had just rolled out of bed.

"Zave's home," one of the family members said, nodding towards the newcomer. Kala recognized the woman as Zave's mother, who had interviewed her for the job.

Kala nodded, her eyes returning to the task at hand. "Welcome home, Mr. Zave," she said, trying to sound professional. She didn't dare look up, fearing she might stumble over her words.

Zave's gaze lingered on her for a moment before he turned to greet his family. Kala watched him from the corner of her eye, wondering what he would be like to work for. He seemed...different. There was something about him that didn't quite fit in with the warm and welcoming atmosphere of the household.

As Zave hugged his mother and siblings, Kala couldn't help but steal glances at him. He was handsome, in a rugged sort of way. But it was his eyes that caught her attention - they seemed to hold a deep sadness, a sense of longing.

"Thanks for dinner, Kala," Zave's mother said, smiling at her. "It smells delicious."

Kala smiled back, feeling a sense of relief. "You're welcome, ma'am. I'll call you when it's ready."

As the family chatted and laughed, Kala continued to prepare dinner, her mind wandering to the new dynamics of the household. She had a feeling that working for this family would be an adventure.
