The next morning, I woke up earlier than usual.

I stood in front of my mirror.

For the first time, I wanted Adam to notice me.

I chose my clothes carefully.

I fixed my hair.

I smiled at myself.

"Today."

Today I would tell him.

I arrived at the office.

But before I could reach Adam's office, Olivia appeared.

She smiled.

"Nora."

"Hello."

She walked toward me.

"Can I talk to you?"

"Sure."

She sat beside my desk.

Then she said something that made my entire world stop.

"Adam and I are going to get married."

I stared at her.

"What?"

She smiled.

"Our families have already discussed it."

My heart dropped.

"But..."

She continued,

"Our families have known each other for years. Everyone thinks it's the perfect match."

I forced myself to smile.

"That's... nice."

Olivia looked at me carefully.

"You seem surprised."

"I'm just happy for you."

She smiled.

"Thank you."

Then she walked away.

I sat completely still.

My hands were shaking.

I couldn't concentrate.

The documents in front of me became blurry.

I had been so foolish.

Of course Adam would choose someone like Olivia.

She was elegant.

Beautiful.

Confident.

She belonged in his world.

I had no place there.

I left the office early.

When I reached home, I sat on my bed.

Tears slowly filled my eyes.

INSIDE ADAM'S OFFICE

Olivia entered Adam's office.

"When are you going to marry me?"

Adam looked up.

"What?"

"You heard me."

He put his pen down.

"I never promised to marry you."

Olivia's expression changed.

"But our families agreed."

"That was my mother's decision."

"You can't do this."

"I can."

She stared at him.

"Then who do you love?"

Adam remained silent.

Olivia watched his face carefully.

Then realization slowly appeared in her eyes.

"Nora?"

Adam looked at her.

"Leave."

Olivia's eyes widened.

"You really love her?"

Adam said nothing.

But his silence answered the question.

Olivia became furious.

"How long?"

Adam looked away.

"That's none of your business."

"You've loved her all this time?"

Adam remained silent.

Olivia shook her head.

"I can't believe it."

She walked toward the door.

Then she stopped.

"You know she doesn't even know how much you love her."

Adam looked at her.

"I know."

"And you're willing to lose her?"

"No."

His answer came immediately.

Olivia stared at him.
