Steve watched soldiers leap from moving vehicles, observed their formation, like geese, converge on the door. Once through it, they flowed into the cabin, filling the dilapidated space while one released the entrance to the lab beneath.
Relief flooded over him at the sight. He’d worried only a few would come, that they wouldn’t understand the seriousness of the situation. This many ensured they’d all get out of here safe and sound.
