As she stood up, trying to figure out how to avoid raising Kittie's suspicions, a pleasant voice suddenly called out, "Annie, I asked you to get the documents from Kittie's desk. Why are you taking so long? The colleagues are all waiting for you!"
Seeing Abelson suddenly appear to help her out, Annie was on the verge of tears, "Sorry, Mr. Abelson, I'm not familiar with Kittie's desk, so it took some time."
"Just in time, Kittie is here. Let her find it for me. You go back to the conference room first. Kittie, give me last quarter's financial report. I'll explain it to everyone."
Although Annie didn't know why Abelson suddenly helped her, she was glad to escape this awkward situation and made her way back to the conference room.
