Grace stood at the base of her apartment building, cautiously scanning the area before heading upstairs.
Unbeknownst to her, a shadowy figure emerged from the nearby darkness, slipped into a car, and sped away.
"Dad! Mom! I'm back to see you." As she opened the door, Grace was greeted by her father's surprised expression as he sat on the sofa. She set down her things and gave him a long-overdue hug.
"Grace, why did you suddenly come back? Did something happen?" Grace's mother emerged from the kitchen, equally surprised to see her daughter.
Grace's dad snapped out of his daze, a tear slipping from the corner of his eye as he wrapped his arms around her, his voice choked with emotion, "You little rascal, you still remember where home is."
