A knock echoed from the door, followed by a male voice, "Alpha, Lady Karla is awake, and she requests for your presence."
"Leave." Raymond said calmly, and the sound of receding footsteps soon rang out.
I faced Raymond, "Can I follow you?"
He stood to his feet, "Of course, you can. We may leave now."
I hurriedly dropped the book and box I was holding, and trailed after Raymond as we left my chambers. I had never been to Karla's chambers, and now that she was unwell, it was necessary to visit and check on her.
I also did not want to admit that I felt strange having Raymond stay alone with Karla.
Well, it must because I was worried about Raymond getting inflicted with the ailment since we are not yet aware of how the malady is being transmitted.
