The next words caught in my throat, and I paused.
Even though I had spoken through my lips, careful not to attract attention, I could still feel the curious gazes darted towards us.
Madison's visage grew downcast, and she gave me a look of disbelief. A hint of guilt rose from my heart, and my brows began to furrow.
"W…Why would you say that?" Madison's voice shook as she questioned, and her eyes turned slightly misty.
I gritted my teeth, feeling rueful. I knew, I should not have said that, but I had not been able to restrain myself.
Jealousy gripped at my heart like a dark vine, twisting and filling my heart with inexplicable thoughts.
