For several days in a row, I studied all of Igor's results. I was happy that his sensitivity had returned, but I couldn't understand why there was no specific improvement. I won't hide it, it scared me. I wished him a speedy recovery with all my heart. If I was on duty, I spent the night in his ward. There was no point in hiding our relationship, many had already guessed about it from the start. But I was afraid of the reaction of my boss and those above me. Today I am finishing my shift and will have two days off. So I had a great idea to offer Igor to come to me for these days. It is spring now, it is warm and I want to relax a little at the dacha, and he could use some fresh air. I walked along the hospital corridor and thought about how to present him with my decision. I stopped at the door, not daring to open it. Did I really need a kick in the ass at thirty-five to take action? I exhaled and went in, almost confidently. Igor was reading a book, sitting in a chair by the window. - I thought you would come earlier. Was there a lot of work? - putting the book aside, he turned to me. - Hi, I was a little late. I have two days off, not counting this day, and I thought... maybe... - Lena, what happened? You are so worried, as if you are afraid of something. - Would you like to spend these days with me at my dacha? Of course, I am not insisting, but it would be nice to relax in nature, - I was saying all this, wringing my fingers. - I would be glad, Lena, but will they let me go for so many days? - and there was so much happiness in my eyes. - Do you really want this? - I don’t get it, you doubted that I would agree? Yes, I was afraid to die of boredom and loneliness, knowing that you were at home without me. - Emmm... then I will go negotiate with the head? Of course, I take responsibility for this. - Do you want me to go with you? - No need, I need to talk to him myself. Now it's time to talk to the boss. I hope that after the conversation I won't be fired. Knocking on the door, I heard a tired "come in." - Elena, what have you come for? You should have been getting ready to go home by now. - Oleg Sergeyevich, I need to talk. - Okay, - Oleg rubbed his face with his hands, apparently I was not the only one who was tired. - As I understand it, now you will not talk to me as a subordinate to a boss? - Yes, you're right. - Having sat down at the table opposite him, I did not drag out the conversation for long. - I think you already know about my relationship with the patient? - Oleg nodded silently, of course, nurses never knew how to keep quiet. - Are you angry? - I was angry at first. I've tried so many times to somehow draw your attention to myself, but apparently it wasn't meant to be. Don't worry, I'll cover for you if anything happens. And I won't set you up. - I know, Oleg. And I'm very grateful to you for that. - But I see that you didn't come to me for that, am I right? - How did you always manage to guess us? - This isn't the first time he's figured me out so quickly. - It's all written on your face, - he laughed quietly. - Oleg, I have the weekend and I'm going to the dacha. I wanted to ask you to let Igor go under my control. He's already going crazy here, he doesn't see anything except the ward and the procedures. - Yeah, especially at night when you're on duty, - she smiled at him, blushing. - No problem, but he should be here on Monday. They've already called me from your courses, which you dropped out of. They wanted to know how our treatment was going. But since there were problems, I said that you'd contact them later. - I think it won't be a problem. Thank you again. Okay, I'll run and pack Igor. Bye. - Have a nice weekend, - I heard after him. All that's left is to get ready and go on vacation. While I was making a list of the necessary things in my head, I didn't notice how I reached his room. I opened the door and froze. Igor was dressed, and next to him was a packed bag with his things. - Pretty efficient. Then we went to the store for groceries and then to the dacha. - I knew you'd make arrangements with everyone. That's why I didn't waste time. Are you driving? - Yes, today I'm driving my car. Just don't be too surprised, okay? - I won't even ask why, - we were leaving the ward with a smile. Yes, I don't like small cars. Although everyone shouts at me, Lena, you're a girl, you should drive a neat little car. No way, this is my life and my choice. And most often I'm not mistaken in my choice. My darling, Toyota Land Cruiser, was waiting for us outside. I rolled Igor's chair up to the car, opened the trunk and put his bag in there, turned around and saw his expression. He was barely holding back his laughter. - I don't get it, I was expecting shock, misunderstanding, or the hackneyed phrase "This car is not for a girl." What made you laugh so much? - I can't even imagine you driving this beast. How do you cope with it? - Well, I don't think there were any problems before. Now you'll see for yourself, - she opened the front passenger door and began to help him move to the seat. Having lifted him, Igor grabbed the door with one hand and the seat with the other. His arms are well pumped up, he can easily lift his body and hold on to something. He pulled his body up, I helped him with his legs, buckled him up, and took the chair to put it in the trunk. - Come on, so as not to waste time, I'll go to the store myself. Just tell me what you need to buy, - she started the car and drove away from the hospital. - Yes, I think it will be more convenient this way. In principle, I don't need anything. I have everything I need in my bag. - Do you have any food preferences? Or are you an omnivore? - It's so nice to say: "you are mine." I haven't felt so happy in a long time. - I'm omnivorous, don't worry, - Igor watched me, smiling even wider. - Okay, I'll try to hurry up. Don't be bored, - we just pulled up to the supermarket. I parked closer to the store exit and, in order to leave with peace of mind, I pounced on him with kisses. - Don't worry, they won't steal me. Who needs me, - he said after the kisses. - I need you, - I buried my nose in his neck to inhale the scent of his body. - It's nice to hear. Come on, run. Jumped out of the car and ran to the store. And now I'm stunned. Why didn't I write a grocery list right away? Now we'll act according to the situation. First of all, I need meat, I'll be with a man with a good appetite this weekend. And also vegetables and fruits, no one has cancelled vitamins. And of course, something for tea. And I also need to take some chemicals, Igor won't shower with women's gel. Having packed a full cart, paid for everything, I went outside. The sun immediately blinded me with its rays. I went to the trunk of the car, unloaded the cart with bags, and drove the cart away from the parking lot. - You're fast. I thought I'd have to wait for you for another hour. Do you always buy so quickly? - Having gotten into the car, the first thing I did was kiss him. - Most often, yes, I quickly go through the stores and take the most necessary things. Didn't you miss me? - I miss you every minute. - Then let's get out of here, let's spend time together. I started the car and pulled out onto the road. We still have 30-40 minutes to go, so there's something to talk about and think about. It's rare that you can sit with someone in complete silence without feeling uncomfortable. We feel good together, so I don't see any reason to resist this relationship. I want something serious, I don't need a big wedding. I need a strong and confident man, behind whose back I'll feel calm. And Igor is exactly the man I need. - What are you thinking about? - Igor interrupted my thoughts. - About how good I feel with you. And I would be all for it if our relationship took a more serious direction - why keep silent about what you want yourself. - Just don't laugh, but I'm thinking about the same thing, - his hand was on my leg, squeezing it slightly. - I already told you, marry me, and it wasn't a joke. His words once again knocked the ground out from under my feet. I think we'll solve this issue this weekend. After a day at work, my eyes start to close on their own, I need rest and urgently. - Are you very hungry? - To be honest, I'd be happy to eat some dumplings. They don't cook that in the hospital, which is a pity. - Great, I just bought us some semi-finished products, when we get there we'll cook some dumplings. And then sleep, - she smiled tiredly at him and turned her attention to the road. - I hope you won't mind if I lie down next to you? - I'll be only too happy about that. We've entered the village, there's not much left. I haven't been here since autumn, I wonder if there have been many changes here? - Lena, has your brother shown up? - No, what's wrong? - It's strange that Igor suddenly asked about him. - While you were on a business trip, he came to the hospital, asked about you. I accidentally overheard his conversation with your boss. - Hmm, interesting, he didn't say a word to me, and Ilya didn't call me, - I hope he didn't get into trouble again. - Well, here we are. Wait a little, we need to open the gate and drive into the yard, it will be easier to get you into the house. I got out of the car and stopped for a few seconds to look at the house. I call it a dacha, but in fact it is my grandmother's house and you can easily live here. A two-story building, made to look old, all made of wood, and a luxurious renovation inside. Grandma loved her house and looked after it, she needed all the conditions for a good life here. All the neighbors envied her. And we fulfilled all her whims regarding the renovation. Okay, no time for memories. I opened the gate, looked around the yard, everything was just as well-kept, opened the gate and looked at the car. Igor was watching me and studying the yard. I'll definitely show him everything later. I got into the car and drove into the yard, and there was my neighbor, who was looking after the house. - Hello, Lenochka. Why didn't you call to say you were coming? I would have baked you some pies, otherwise with your work you're only getting thinner, - Aunt Sveta in her element. - Hello, Aunt Sveta. I just got off work and came straight here. I took a couple of days off and came to rest, - I hugged her and went to open the trunk, I needed to get the stroller for Igor. - I'm not alone here, just don't be scared, okay? - You finally came with a man? And what is there to be afraid of… - and she stopped her speech, because I took out the stroller and unfolded it, - Len, what is this, is yours sitting in the wheelchair? Poor guy… - Aunt Sveta, please, just don’t feel sorry for him, he’s a strong man, it just happened that way, you’ll find out later. She wheeled the stroller to the door and opened it, it’s good that the yard is tiled and it’s easy to wheel the stroller. Igor was already ready to get out, she smiled at him and extended her hand to help. - Lena, are you sure we did the right thing and came here? - Did you hear the conversation? Igor, we did everything right, now get out of the car and let’s go into the house, - all this happened at the wrong time, I didn’t have time to prepare anyone. She transferred Igor to the chair and wheeled him towards the porch, Aunt Sveta was already standing there and waiting for us. - Igor, meet Aunt Sveta, my neighbor and she also looks after my house. Aunt Sveta, this is Igor, my boyfriend and also my patient, - I didn't hide the truth from her. - Nice to meet you, - Igor didn't panic, that's good, but the neighbor was a little shocked. - Oh, excuse me, how uncivilized, I'm also glad to meet you. So, do you need help getting into the house or can you do it yourself? - Now we'll try it ourselves, I hope we can do it, - I think if you turn the stroller with its back to the steps, you'll be able to pull it up, especially since there are only three steps. - Don't worry, I'll tell my son, and he'll make a special ramp for the stroller. Let me help you, Igor, do you mind? - Sorry for bothering you by helping me. And so, a couple of minutes later, I was bringing Igor into my house. The most important thing is that my room is on the first floor and it has a double bed and a bathroom. - Come on, you wait for me in the living room for now, and I'll quickly bring our things? Oh, no, first I'll put on water for the dumplings. This is more important now, - and we laughed together. Half an hour later, the food was put in the refrigerator and in the cupboards, the things were in the bedroom, and we were waiting for lunch.
