Consequences

It has already been 2 weeks since her mother died. She was lying in her bed all messy and heartbroken from the loss of a parent, but most of all because she decided to ignore them every time, they called her. She decided to skip a holiday, so she don’t listen to her mother’s usual drama once again, not to keep in touch with her and never to try. She was going through some old photos of them when she received an email. It was from Ryan which didn’t surprise her because he sent her the offer and the budget for the hospital 10 days ago and she honestly didn’t have any desires of checking it. ‘Dr. Olsen I hope that you had the chance to get through our offer. It will be my pleasure to invite you for a coffee this afternoon so we could discuss in person if there is anything that need to be considered.’ She had to go. She couldn’t continue laying in her bed and be all miserable about the decisions she had made in her life. He could be a good distraction for her and a chance to run away from her messed-up existence. She sent him a quick answer and headed to the bathroom. She wore a long knee lent brown skirt and a black shirt covered with dark brown coat and high heels and took off to the place of their meeting. He was already sitting at the coffee table when she walked in. 'Dr. Olsen.' - he raised his sight and greeted her. - 'It is a pleasure to meet you again.' 'Please, you can call me Sabrina.' - she snapped at him and waved to the waiter. - 'Can I have a double espresso with a shot of hazelnut liquor. Thank you.' 'Yes, and for you sir?' - he turned to him. 'Just coffee with milk.' - he ordered while he was staring at her. 'I must apologize I didn’t have much time to look the business plan you send me.' - she decided to break the awkward moment raising between them without any further staling. 'Is everything alright?' - he asked, ignoring her statement. Perhaps her sad eyes speak for themself. - 'If I may ask...' - he began. 'Um... yes.' - she interrupted him and looked down at her cup of coffee that was just served. - 'I will look the papers first thing in the morning. I apologize for the delay.' 'Sabrina.' - he put his hand on hers. She raised her sight a bit shocked of his sudden closeness and stared at him for a moment. 'If you wish we could discuss it now.' - she pulled her hand back and tried changing the subject once again. 'I see.' - he stood up. - 'We can discuss this some other time. Have a lovely day Dr. Olsen' – he started walking out of the coffee. 'Shit.' - she bit her lip and walked after him. - 'Ryan, wait... '- before she could finish, he grabbed her arm and pull her closer to him while a crazy guy with a motorcycle drove through the area she was just sitting on. 'Are you okay?' - he asked and raised her head so she could face him. She slightly nodded as she stared at him. - 'You can let go now.' - he added with a smile. 'What?' - only slipped through her mouth as she was staring at his deep blue eyes. She was standing there in millimetres of his face. A wind blew and his sent float around her like a spring breeze carrying the colours of the trees. He moved a piece of hair falling down on her face. For a moment, her reality shifted elsewhere. 'You will tear my shirt apart.' - he joked. She didn’t notice that when he moved her from the way of the motorcycle, she grabbed his shirt with both of her hands, and she remained like this for a while. - 'I mean I don’t have a problem with you staying like this or tearing it down but perhaps in another situation.' - she let go of him and moved one step back like she suddenly felt her hands burning, her face flushed, and he chuckled. 'Thank you.' - she smiled. 'Don’t get used to it, sweetness.' - she couldn’t say a word back because it was highly unprofessional for her to behave like this and the reason she ran after him was not to screw her deal. After all, that was why she was here. Right!?!?!? 'I didn’t mean to be rude earlier.' - she tried apologizing and changing the subject. She ignored his words and maybe she sounded like a worried little teenager at that moment as she opened her mouth. 'That can be forgiven if you join me for a dinner tonight.' - he looked at her waiting for an answer. 'Of course, a business dinner...' - she quickly added, and his face changed so she guessed that was not what he meant... 'More dinner, less business.' - he snapped. 'This is a highly unprofessional, don’t you think?' - she asked him in return. 'Perhaps, but I can't really be professional around you.' - he came closer to her, he put his arm around her waist and pulled her closer. His breath was heavy and her became too. God, how much she wanted to kiss him, but she couldn't. She couldn't fall for that one. She barely knew him and its never good to mess work and hocking up. She needed someone serious in her life, no couple of nights stand. - 'You think about it.' - he said as she was just staring at him with no answer coming out of her mouth. He leaned and kissed her cheek. Then he turned around and waived a taxi. When the taxi stopped, he opened the door and she hopped in. - 'Good night.' - he said to her. She smiled without saying another word as he closed the door, and the cap took off. Couple of minutes later her phone vibrated. It was a message from him. She couldn’t hold her curiosity, so she instantly opened her phone. ‘This is the address, if you never show up tonight, it will be all just professional.’ - she signed. She clearly didn’t know what to do and she didn’t have many hours left to think about it. Now it wasn’t a choice between her work's deal because he made it clear that this won’t affect their professional relationship, it was a choice between weather she wanted to see this, whatever it was, in some other way and go through herself for it without knowing him or her fears were going to come in the way of her happiness once again. Her phone vibrated again. ‘But I hope you do, sweetness!’ - she looked out of the cab’s window and a wave of thoughts flooded her head. She felt really attracted to him and at the same time scared. 'There is no way you gonna’ go...No way!' - she said to herself. 'Did you say something Mrs.?' - the taxi driver asked her as she was clearly losing her mind talking like that to herself out loud. 'Um... No.' - she denied a bit nervous and looked back through the window. When she got back home, she shut the door out loud and tossed her keys angrily on the board near the main entrance. What was he thinking messing with her like this? - slipped through her messed up brain. She took off all her clothes and tossed them aside as she walked under the shower. When the water went down her body, thoughts of what had happened today came back to her. She closed her eyes. She was back there holding his shirt, staring at his blue eyes and imaging how would feel when his lips meet hers... . . . It was 9:30 pm. as Ryan poured a glass of scotch and unbuttoned his shirt so he can breathe normally. There was still no sign of Sabrina, no answer to his texts, no call. The dinner on the table was getting colder with every minute. He tried, he really tried not falling for that one, but the moment he laid his eyes on her in that bar he knew she must be his. He felt disappointment bursting inside him, but something more that concerned him at that moment was the fact that she was his father’s number one target. She could be the one he was hunting for so many years for some God damn stupid revenge. If it is really her, that means they are doomed before they can even start. Even deep down in his guts he hoped she is not because this would made it easier for him to protect her and easier to make her his. He drank quickly his scotch and put the glass down on the kitchen’s counter. When he was about to poor himself another one, the door belt rang. He put the bottle down and headed to the door. It was 09:45 pm. and he wasn’t expecting anybody at that hour. Most of the people working for him were home and the guards were somewhere out in the dark. He was in fact playing a good role model of decent millionaire. When he opened the door Sabrina was standing there with a dark green dress wrapped around her body showing her fine curves and a corset forming perfectly her breasts. He traced every curve of her body until he met her beautiful green eyes. Her brown curly hair was falling freely on her naked shoulders and a small smile formed on her lips as she met his sea eyes. ‘I hope I am not too late for dinner.’ - she said to him as he totally lost his speech in that moment. Images of him leaving marks on her body went through his head. ‘Unlikely.’ - he raised his hand to show her the way. - ‘Please come in.’ - he invited her. ‘Thank you.’ - she simply added as she took his hand, and they headed to the kitchen. ‘Would you like a glass of wine?’ - he opened the mini bar. ‘That sounds good.’ - she smiled. ‘Red, white, rose?’ - he didn’t really know what she liked except the hard alcohol clearly. ‘White is fine.’ - he poured two glasses and cheer her up. ‘You look stunning, sweetness.’ - he looked all over her once more. From head to toes. ‘Thank you. Um.. Are you living here all alone.’ - she added quickly. She looked nervous and uncomfortable. She had some second thoughts just a few minutes ago as she stared at his door wandering if she should ring on the belt or turn around and run, but here she was standing in millimetres of him. And he was clearly enjoying making her feel uncomfortable as he moved closer to her and put his hand on her tiny waist. Her eyes moved aside. ‘I do, sweetness.’ - he leaned back to her ear and whispered it. She trembled. She moved one step back and accidently pushed the glass of wine down. The wine split out and the glass broke onto pieces. ‘I’m so sorry.’ - she kneeled and start taking the glass’ pieces with her hands and before he could say something, she cut her hand and a blood started dropping down. ‘s**t! Are you okey!’ - he grabbed her arm and pull her closer to the counter so he could see it. He took some bandages and cleaned the place where she cut herself. ‘I’m fine, Ryan. It’s nothing.’ - she moved her arm away. ‘You need to be more careful.’ - he split out with a bit anger in his voice. Her eyes widened as she stared at him after his weird reaction. ‘This was a mistake.’ - she snapped. She turned around and started walking to the door. ‘Sabrina, wait.’ - he walked after her and grabbed her arm. ‘Let go of me!’ - she commanded and pull her arm, but he tightened his grip and pulled her back to the nearest wall. He raised both of his hands up on the wall around her face and she looked aside. ‘I didn’t mean to be rude. Please don’t go.’ - she raised her sight and looked at him like she was trying to understand his reaction. ‘Why are you being so weird and protective?’ - she asked confused. ‘I protect what I like, sweetness. And you are one hell of a bad ass.’ - a second later he leaned closer to her lips. - ‘And right now, I really want to kiss you.’ The next thing they remember of that night was him, pushing his bedroom’s door while he was kissing her neck. She climbed her feet around him and circle his body with her thighs. He pushed her next to the wall and roughly kissed her lips. She sighed loudly and pushed the lamp standing on the board there and it crashed down on the floor, but it seemed no one of them got bothered with that. He turned around and threw her on the bed. He quickly took off his shirt and climbed back on her. He started kissing her neck, then her breasts and he went down to her belly. He zipped her skirt off and toss it aside. He couldn’t hold his desire for her. He kept it long enough. He wanted her since the first day he laid his eyes on her and tonight she was all his and he would make sure she would never forget it... . . . They both collapsed on the bed and stayed like that until the morning light shined through the curtains of Ryan’s bedroom. He opened his eyes to see her laying naked in his bed, still sleeping. He moved a piece of her golden-brown hair falling on her face. God, he would love and enjoy seeing her like this every day. She was a f*****g treasure. He remembered the marks of his kisses on her soft, smooth skin from the night before. Like his lips were touching purity and the softness of her lips were making him wish to never be a part of them. Suddenly a phone ringing distracted him from his thoughts. He slipped off the bed and walked out of the room. The name standing on his screen brough him quicky back to reality. It was the last person he wanted to talk to right now but nothing good would have come of hanging up the phone, so he answered. ‘What.’ - he shot angrily trying his best not to shout because of the sleeping next door Sabrina. ‘Watch your ton boy.’ - his father’s voice sounded from the other line. ‘What is it?’ - he asked tensely. ‘When I said do the job, I meant do the job, not get her in your bed you idiot.’ - he yelled. - ‘You have a month, then I will handle it.’ - he said, and the line ended. Ryan signed and threw his phone on the nearest table. ‘Ryan’ - he moved his sight up to see Sabrina standing there. - ‘Is everything alright?’ - she asked as she saw the tension shooting from his face. She was wearing one of his shirts. ‘Damn, sweetness.’ - her cheeks heated up. - ‘I don’t think wearing my shirt was such a good idea.’ ‘I’m sorry I should have asked.’ - she looked at the ground. ‘I am glad you didn’t.’ - he walked closer to her. He leaned and kissed her cheek and then her neck. - ‘Are you hungry?’ ‘Starving.’ - she smiled. ‘Good, because I have ordered a breakfast.’ - he grabbed her hand and led her to the kitchen. The breakfast was already served, and they both sat on the table. ‘I didn’t mean to stalk you earlier on the phone.’ - she said nervously. ‘Don’t worry. It was just work stuff.’ - he calmed her, but in fact he was nervous himself. Deep down he knew he probably wouldn't be able to protect her from what was coming. - ‘So... - he paused and stared at her for a second. - ‘Do you have plans for today?’ ‘Not really.’ - she drank from her juice and placed it back on the table. - ‘I got a little break from work after...’ - she paused and looked down at her meal. ‘After what.’ - he snapped. ‘Um... nothing. Just a break.’ - she smiled. ‘Good. We are taking a little boat trip today then’- he said to her demandingly regarding her opinion. ‘A boat trip. Hm...’ - she dug into her food. ‘Is everything alright?’ - he asked her. ‘I have known you for a few weeks. I am pretty sure this is the worst idea for me to get into a stranger’s boat and go God knows where.’ - she laughed. ‘Ya, perhaps you got a point here.’ - he laughed back. ‘As far as I know you could be a serial killer.’ - she looked at him seriously. ‘Hm... and what is the scale for serial killers exactly.’ - he joked. ‘5.’ - she shot. ‘Oh, I see... - he paused for a second. - ‘Well, I am not there yet. You are perfectly safe with me.’ - he joked, and she became serious for a moment trying to understand what he just said, studying his reaction, but then she laughed. . . .
