It took a week for Elliot to fully wake up. He could hear Savannah whispering to someone but his consciousness wouldn’t fully grasp the conversation “I think I poured too much in his drink, Margrette” She was barely speaking above a whisper. Margrette didn’t reply, she had problems of her own. She had hoped Elliot would be awake enough in order to give her insight on Adela’s whereabouts but her attempts would fall on death ears. Elliot was given a love potion but it wouldn’t work and Margrette knew it. As Elliot began to fully gain consciousness Margrette decided to leave. She hated wolves and most of all the fact that her daughter loved one. “Savannah? What’s going on and where am i?” Elliot was stumbling from out of the bed and hurling questions. “Ellie, you must’ve gotten so drunk! I wasn’t aware you were such a lightweight. This is my house and I want you to rest and stay as long as you like” everything felt foreign to him and he couldn’t seem to grasp normality. It was as if Elliot was in a nightmare he couldn’t wake from. “Savannah, again call me Elliot. Where are my things” he went to grab his phone on the side table but Savannah got to it first. “Ellie, just stay here a while and rest? You don’t need to leave right away do you? Let me make you something to eat” it infuriated him that she did not respect his wishes and was trying to keep his things from him, but he was still very groggy and didn’t feel any strength to fight with her. It took him all of five seconds to fall back to sleep. Savannah seeing him fall back to sleep she crept out of the room and made her way to the kitchen. She wanted to go through his phone but it was passcode protected. She did the biggest eye roll when she saw Adela’s face as the screen saver. How long must Adela stand in her way? All through high school she outshined Savannah. All Elliot could think about was Adela and Savannah couldn’t stand it. She decided to hide Elliots phone in one of her kitchens drawers. Chuckling to herself, she couldn’t understand why she couldn’t stay out of trouble. Joshua would flip his s**t if he found out Elliot was in her house and Margrette would kill her if she knew she was sleeping with Joshua. Joshua was her play thing but who she really wanted was Elliot and Savannah finally had him in her trap. While Savannah cooked dinner, upstairs Elliot had fully woke up, completely conscious and understanding the predicament he found himself in. When someone wakes from a love potion and the effects have worn off, it would be harder to detect but Elliot had read many of Adela’s journals. Adela made him read them if ever there was a time he had drank or ate something he wasn’t supposed to. Elliot began to laugh at the thought of her punching him in the head because even with her nagging, he had still been a target. Elliot didn’t think Savannah would do something like that to him. He thought she was trust worthy. “What time is it?” Elliot mumbled to himself. He went to reach for his phone on the side table like he tried before but remembered Savannah took it. He really didn’t want to go downstairs, not only was he upset about being drugged but he was also embarrassed for her because she felt she had to go to that extent. He began to take in his surroundings and the room was the dusty beige color but the bedspread was worse. A horrible brown color and the pillows were adorned with bright grey pillow cases. The room just lacked warmth and energy. It just looked like barf. Elliot began to wok through different scenarios because Savannah had proven many times she was unhinged. He and Savannah’s first meeting had been in their freshman year in high school, and even then her attraction to him was overbearing. Elliot and Adela knew each other since they were small children and then set an even bigger fire within Savannah. It always embarrassed Elliot when Savannah would try to compete with Adela for his affection, especially when the fight was one sided and pretty much went unnoticed on Dela’s part.
This time Savannah went too far. Dealing with magick and spells is dangerous for both the caster and the person being cast-on. Elliot could’ve been hurt. He needed to find a way to reach out to Hugo, that was the person he came with. Where could he have gone? He hoped that Adela would be still available to talk. His appearance wasn’t hidden so she had to have known he was in town. He couldn’t fault her if she didn’t want to speak with him ever again because he did leave her in a state stranded and alone. He had always been impulsive and he made a stupid decision that came from being hurt and feeling rejected. Going to California seemed like a place far away enough to start over but it was hard for Elliot to let go of what he left behind. Adela was the love of his life and there was no finding a different her. The only roots he lad left in Georgia were Adela, and his biggest regret was trying to sever that cord. After running away he always feared Adela would want to return back to her home. When he finally began to get over his fear, she pulled the rug from under him. Elliot never heard a word she spoke on the phone and four years later he still doesn’t know why she wanted to go back. Seeing the bruises and the busted lip on her when he saw her at the funeral event gave him an idea. Margrette, Adela’s mother, could manipulate her way into anything… “Are you awake yet?” Savannah’s voice brought him out of his thoughts. If looks could kill, Savannah would be stone right now. “Savannah what did you put into my drink last night, do not lie. Adela is a witch and I have experience in potions. I want the complete truth” he spoke so sternly. “It was just a small love potion, only one that would heighten emotions for the caster. I don’t really know what emotion it heightened since you fell asleep” Elliot was dumbfounded at her logic. It was clear as day, there weren’t any emotions to heighten and that’s the reason he fell asleep. “You glowed for a minute but that’s about it” looking at her face, it lit up and was full of delusion “Well Ellie, maybe I glowed because you’re in love with me. Enough talk, to make up for what I’ve done I’ve made dinner, come eat!” Savannah started to grab onto his arm but thinking of eating anything that had been in her hands seemed like an awful idea “No Savannah, you’re not to be trusted. I’m not eating or drinking anything here. Go get me my phone please” Savannah huffed and folded her arms as Elliot continued to speak “I have to talk to my boss and the person who I came with. I also want to talk to Dela and Brandon” he began looking around the room for his clothes “Ellie, you’re not thinking this through. Slow down” she was trying to calm him but she could tell every time she opened her mouth his seemed to get more agitated “Okay, I’ll go get your phone..” there was a giant knock on the door “Elliot! Are you in there?!” Hugo’s voice rang out for him loud, he could sense there was trouble. Elliot rushed past Savannah to find the front door, but passing by the kitchen he heard his phone ringing. “Savannah, where did you put my phone?” He could hear her footsteps hurrying down the hallway but going toward the door “Okay! Okay! I’ll open it up” while Elliot kept looking through the kitchen for his phone, he assumed the ringing stopped because it was Hugo calling him. He could hear Hugo yelling at Savannah but he couldn’t completely hear words. He finally found his phone in one a drawer with oven mitts on top of it. He nearly fainted at the fact a week had passed and he had hundreds of missed calls from his boss and from Hugo. “Hugo, I’m in here!” Elliot called out and then heard foot steps rushing toward the kitchen “Gods, Ellie! Ive been searching for you everywhere. What did she do to you?” He turned his face to stare at Savannah “I.. He..” she began to stutter “just leave her, it doesn’t matter. We need to go. I might be out of a job. Dammit!” Hugo and Elliot just walked out of the house without looking back. A week of his life gone forever.
