"mama" I shouted as I opened the "yes mi amor how was school today where is Carmen"
school was okay mama just had a mid term exam I think I did well .
"beautiful Camilla you are the brightest" she Smiled calling Carmen again
"here mama"
she answered behind me as we walked inside and I saw papa
getting ready for his shift he turned to us with a smile gesturing us to come hug him.
"come here my girls" hugging us tightly while placing a kisses on our forehead. " Am going to be late for work tell Fernando to fix the toilet sink when he comes" okay papa I headed to my room thinking about what I saw and if that was what I thought it was.
"Fernando couldn't be dealing with the cartels he is not that type he doesn't even have tattoos then why did they call him boss maybe I misunderstood the situation a bit should I ask him about it what if he gets angry this days he seems to tensed maybe its because they are forcing him " a knock on the door snapped me out of my thoughts
" Camilla sis I need you to help " Carmen said with an weird smile I didn't know what she wanted help with I stood from my bed walked towards her " what is the problem " I asked
" you know how you hit puberty as a girl and you start to bleed" she said looking worried " yes did you get your period Carmen!! "I shouted"
looking at her surprised she was only 10 I got mine 4 years ago at 14 "yes and it hurts I don't know what to do Camilla" tears falling down her cheeks as she spoke.
I held close reassuring her it's normal to feel pain takin her inside the toilet for a shower before showing how to put on a pad after we finished I went to mama to tell her about it she was shocked.
" Camilla you sure but she is young" she stated looking worried
" maybe we should take her to see a doctor Camilla maybe she is sick" looking scared and worried. Mama it's normal to get it at this age but will go just to make sure.
"In all our family she is the first to get it before becoming a teenager that's why am a little worried" said mama trying to keep calm.
We got dressed locked the house and went to Santa Maria hospital . On our way mama kept praying. We arrived entering the hospital we asked for a doctor.
" doctor my daughter is only ten and she started bleeding already am worried maybe it's something else doctor...
" And what is your name " asked the doctor." I am Maria Santos I am her mother this is my daughter Carmen "
placing her hand on Carmen's shoulder. "and this is my daughter Camilla" pointing at me while I stand near the door
Doctor " you shouldn't be worried it is common for young girls to get their periods at a young age though it's not that common here in Mexico... Are you feeling any pain Carmen?
" I feel pain my tummy it hurts ".
" okay am gonna give you some pain killers and am gonna check your temperature okay.
As he checked her temperature.
" seems to have a fever Mrs santos would give her a warm bath and some ice cream when she gets home it helps with cramps"
"okay doctor we can go now"
"yes Mrs santos... bye Carmen don't worry you will be fine"
while smiling at her.
" okay doctor bye" Carmen says
As We a headed out of the hospital I see my brother getting out of an ambulance with a guy who is bleeding at lot. As I am about to call his name he looks at me and motions me to stop and he comes over to me and asks
" what are you doing here is mama or papa sick" he asks worried I don't answer him for minute.
as am looking at the who is bleeding atlot being taking in the hospital thinking what the hell did my brother get himself into.
"Camilla!! Are listening to". I nod yes then he asks again
"who is sick and why are you here?"
Ca..rmen had her period early so we came to check if everything was fine. Fernando who is the guy you was with now in the ambulance.? I asked curiously looking at his face
"A friend" he answered looking around "where is Carmen?"
Inside with mama. Getting medicine.
" listen to me Camilla don't tell mama you me here especially about the guy I was with I will talk to you when I get home."
He left quickly after saying that and he didn't even go inside the hospital to check on his friend I worried thinking..
Could what I saw earlier be what I thought it would be..
