I looked over at my mate. She was covered in blood but it didn’t bother her at all. She fought like a true warrior today. I’m had watched her help pack members that were hurt to the pack clinic and now I see how she helps in what she can in cleaning wounds and even though the smell of blood was thick in the air she never lost control even though she’s still new to this whole vampire thing.
The sun had barely begun to set behind the dense forest horizon when the chaos from the recent vampire attack finally subsided. The pack’s hospital was filled with the murmurs of pain, the rustling of bandages, and the hurried footsteps of healers and volunteers. Among them was my mate. She was an unwavering protector - who moved swiftly through the chaos, her eyes calm yet fierce with resolve.
