As Leonidas’ wolf bounded further into the fields, the city began to melt away in the distance behind them. Brooke breathed a sigh of relief as the city – and the chase that had ensued back there – disappeared. The wolf slowed his pace to a stop, leaning down to let Brooke slide off his back.
