The world was black. She was floating in the inky unending darkness, and then, she awoke.
Abruptly her eyes flew open. Her chest heaved with her ragged breathing. Everything was dark.
Slowly, she blinked. Tried to think,
Where am I?
What’s going on?
Her head pound with some sort of pain, but it slowly receded, leaving a dull throb. Slightly shifting in the cramped small space, she wriggled her hands and toes. She wondered if she were merely dreaming, if she was imagining things, and reached into the dark abyss of her mind.
With a start she realized that she couldn’t even remember who she was, where she was, anything!
The panic set in like a switch being pulled. She surged forward, then reared back with a whimper of pain. Her face had connected with some sort of panel and her face throbbed with pain.
She stilled, not kowing what to do. Her mind was already at work, racing and trying to access the situation. She couldn’t recall anything or who she was, but she knew for sure that she needed to move it, or at least her instincts told her so.
Wiggling about to get a hand free from being pressed to her body, she ran it over the panel, felt about. Her instincts told her she was looking for something, but what?
Her fingers grazed a solid thing protruding from the panel.
Door, her mind said.
Pull.
Immediately, she pulled at it. Instead of opening, it just stayed put. Letting out a grunt she pulled at it again.
“Open you stupid door!!” Her own voice shocked her.
The door immediately fell wide open and she tumbled out into the blinding light.
Blinking, she braced her back against the closing door and took a deep breathe. Blinking rapidly she slowly looked around.
She was in some sort of long room. Blue shiny little doors lined the walls in two rows, one up and another underneath. In-between were big yellow door with names on them. Again, she tried to recall something, anything. All she felt was a dark void. Nothing.
Her instincts -or whatever it was, tugged at her to stand straight.
Clear as day a thought sparked.
She needed to get out and find somewhere safe. She didn’t understand the thought, but she barely understood anything either way, so she slowly stood straight and took a gingerly step forward. Testing the floor, she took another and when she was sure it was solid, started wandering about.
A safe place. She didn’t even know where she was, talk of a safe place.
The shiny little blue doors loomed weirdly pretty to her and she reached her fingers out to graze them as she walked. There was the quiet sound of chatter about but she couldn’t pinpoint it’s position, almost like it was everywhere, and somehow, this seemed to fit the place perfectly.
She slowly kept padding forward, till she reached a sudden curve in the wall. Inside was stuffed with a table and chairs, then another door, only, this was dark oak.
A chubby blonde sat behind the pretty table typing into something.
It wasn’t this woman that pulled her attention, it was another, a man who sat opposite on a long chair with no table. He was lazily slouched in his seat. Dark arms crossed in front of his bulky chest and jean clad legs scattered about the floor.
Suddenly, he sniffed and his head whipped towards her.
Eyes an emerald green that was absolutely insane clashed with her amethyst and sent a wave of emotion, so violent, it shook her to her bones.
She weakly grabbed at the wall because her knees were suddenly too weak to hold her up.
In an instance he was on his feet and swooping her off of her’s.
“Coby, what the hell are you- oh... oh,” The blonde shut her mouth.
She couldn’t think straight, not like she ever could, but now it was ten times harder. The feels of his bronze skin on her’s sparked such flames in her that she felt she would burst. His eyes, now darkened stared into her soul with emotions she couldn’t understand.
“Mine.” He said.
Of course she didn’t understand what he was talking about, but when his head dipped and his nose brushed slightly against hers, she couldn’t even attempt to, because her head was mush.
“What do you mean?” She barely managed to whisper, because it was all she could do. His breathe was mixing with hers beautifully against both their skins. She had a feeling he would taste like apples and spice.
He dipped his nose into the crook of her shoulder and took a huge sniff.
For a fleeting moment she wondered what she smelt like, of course the thought didn’t last long because suddenly his lips were on that spot and her mind was even more clouded than before. It felt like electric sparks were everywhere and nowhere. The only way she knew he felt it too was because he flinched and nuzzled her neck the more.
When he pulled away his eyes were a different color. Instead of green they were unnaturally gold. Bright gold and sparky, if there was ever a photo of electricity this was it.
“Who are you?” His breathe still mixed with hers even as he slowly slid her down so her feet were finally on the floor again.
Her fingers clutched to his arms to steady herself because she was sure they couldn’t stand on their own, not when they suddenly and strangely felt like jelly, not that she knew what it was. It was just intuition, or whatever it was that seemed to keep giving her the answers in her head.
“Who-”
There was the sound of a door slamming. He stood straight and looked towards it.
“Coby Fletcher!!” A man boomed.
She heard the blonde woman say something but she wasn’t listening. Why was his skin so golden? It looked like chocolate... she wanted a bite. And then, she started thinking of leaning in and taking a quick nip.
Coby turned and took a look at the direction the noise was coming from. “Uh...” he turned to her, golden eyes glowing. “I think we should go..”
In that moment, even if she was basically clueless on basically everything else including she was, she knew one thing. She would let this man take her anywhere. Anywhere.
And so when his huge beautiful hands gripped hers, she gripped his harder.
And when he ran out of the building, she ran with him. All the way.
