“ Do well and pass the information and don't call me on this issue again”, he put on his sunglasses started off , then stopped abruptly and turned to everyone
“ And to all of you , you can't leave unless you're done with your work , I don't want to see you laze around here , you're being paid for this job”, with that Xander left .
“ I am so sorry ma'am .
“ It's fine , I really understand” , Sandra said with a light smile as Anthony led her out of the lee group.
“ Mr Xander is so cold , I wondered what must have happened to him “ , Amelia one of the female staff chipped in
“ Cold but handsome and hot “ , Sylvia said as she smiled dreamingly
“ Cut it out , you obsessed pig, you he will never have his eyes on you”, the third staff Frederick gave a light slap on the back .
“ Hey you concentrate on what you are doing , you heard what Mr Xander said and stop with the gossip “, almond, the most responsible of the advice, kept quiet and continued with her work.
Sam walked into the hospital ward , her dad was asleep while Emilia was coming out of the bathroom .
“The Doctor said dad can be discharged while we gather enough money for his treatment”, Emilia said getting the polythene bag stretch to her by sam

Silence filled the room , only the gentle snoring of Mr Aroye was heard . Sam dozed off on the chair and Emilia covered her with a duvet .
Alexander returned from the office about 11pm , drunk . He always returns late in order not to encounter Victoria or his parents , who will lecture him on how to live and take care of Victoria .
“ Gross”, he always exclaimed each time he remembered their lecture .
As he walked into the living room , the light suddenly came on and Victoria was seated , with her legs partially exposed in the short nightie she was on revealing the straps of the nightie . She says seductively, leaking her lips as she stared at a perplexed Xander.
“ My love , you're back , I have been waiting for you “, she advanced towards Xander and placed her hands around his neck while pressing her blossom on his chest .
“ What are you doing , take your hands off me “, an expressionless Xander pushed away her hands while trying to maintain his balance.
“ You've had enough to drink again again , how much ass did you touch again today “, Victoria asked with her second finger trailing around Xanders lips.
Xander, unable to take it anymore, pushed her and she landed on the sofa with a thud and let out a loud scream that brought Mr and Mrs Lee out.
“ Oh dear what happened to you “, Mrs Lee rushed to Victoria who pretended to be crying
“ Xander pushed me , he raised his hands on me “, she kept making the fake crying sounds
“What , is that true Xander, did you hit her “, she walked towards Xander , “did you hit your wife “
Xander kept silent with his hands in his pocket . He really wasn't ready for this with his mom, he had tried avoiding encounters like this , but the devil in Victoria wouldn't allow it .
“ You're even drunk “, Mrs Lee said sniffing in his breath as she got closer
“ What is wrong with you Xander, what has gotten into you , you're the heir of the lee group but you're acting so irresponsible, beating your wife , coming home late and drunk and even sleeping around , for goodness sake what the hell is your problem”, Mrs Lee said almost in tears.
Although he hates seeing his parents upset, it wasn't really his fault rather the woman they gave him to marry .
“ I am sorry mom” , he clenched his fist as he was trying to control his anger and started away
“ Don't you dare go in without your wife else you won't like the action I will take “, Mrs Lee threatened
Xander stopped on his track , cast a look at Victoria with a clenched teeth and fists with face red , walk towards her stretch out his arm “ let's go”
Victoria swallowed hard , already trembling but composed .
“ No , I can't walk , can you please carry me “
Xander furrowed his brow , this woman is sure possessed, with his mom still looking at them
He lifted her from the sofa and started away towards the room .
A few steps to his room , he suddenly let her down which she almost tripped, pinned her to the wall and looked at her with so much disdain.
“ I will never love you , the earlier you accept that , the better”, brushed past her and made his way to his room .
Victoria stood fixed to the ground , heartbroken but composed , she rushed back to her room while wiping off the tears escaping .
“Be careful dad”, Sam said while guiding her dad into the house.
“ Here , here, sit here “, she helped him to one of the sofas of their medium sized living room .
“ Emilia please get dad a cup of water “
“ Thank you Sam , I am actually sorry for all I have made you go through for the family “
“ Dad , please , don't start again, I am the first dad and the only one that can provide for the family now , I am not complaining, I am here to always help you “, Sam said as she squatted in front of her father holding his cheeks with two hands .

Sam got up, turned her back and walked out of the room while wiping off the tears from her eyes
Standing outside the balcony , taking in the cool breeze from the morning weather , she looked into the bright clueless sky , gave a light smile .
She opened her purse in search of something and then saw the card brought it out and stared at it “ I know I could be of more help to you financially “ , she remembered those words , exhaled deeply .
“Sam , Sam “ , Emilia called as she walked towards her
“ Yes , over here “, Sam immediately returned the card into the bag and turned to her sister, giving
a smile .
“ Are you okay “, Emilia asked as she had seen her wipe off tears while going out of the room .
“ Yes I am fine Emilia “, she took her hands into hers “, thank you for taking care of dad , I love you “, she gently squeezed her hand and they went into an embrace
“ Dad's sleeping now “ Emilia said as they detached from the hug
“ Okay “, Sam nodded almost in tears
“ Why you crying , dad is gonna be fine “
“ Yes I know , it's just that I need to get his drugs and medical bills , but it's fine , let's head inside “, Sam wiped her tears, her sister grabbed her hands into hers and they walked back inside .
