Five days at Ivy’s parents, pretending to be her girlfriend. It seemed like a good idea until we were pulling up on their driveway and the reality of it all set in. I was really going to spend five days lying to her parents, and to a degree, her. Maybe I should’ve told her about my little crush but what good would that do? I knew she wouldn’t reciprocate my feelings and I wasn’t going to do anything to make her uncomfortable so… Why couldn’t I enjoy the holidays with a family that cared instead of having to be on my own?
