Six Ivy It was strange to know that I wasn’t going home to an empty flat. Even though Jenna had only moved out two weeks ago, it had felt a lot longer. Time moved slowly when I was on my own. But now, I had a new housemate. And while I didn’t know Frances very well yet, I was excited to have a new friend. I dug my house keys out of my bag and pushed into the flat, climbing the stairs. While I wasn’t in bad shape, I was huffing and puffing by the time I got up to the landing. When I showed Frances up, I’d purposefully pretended like the two flights didn’t bother me. While I caught my breath, a savoury smell filled my nose. Surprisingly, it came from my flat. I unlocked the front door, stepping into the living room.
