CHAPTER 3
Maddie and June made a stop in Rolling Fork to drop off her winter clothes and pick up her summer clothes. Maddie wanted to talk to her parents about her plans to start a school in Morristown. She also wanted to go by the gallery and take another look in the magic mirror.
Maddie let herself into the house with her key. “Hello, anyone here?” she called.
“Maddie.” said Lucy, coming out of the living room and giving her a hug. She then turned to June and hugged her, too.
“Welcome, June. I’ve heard a lot of good things about you from Maddie,” she said.
“Thank you for having me, Mrs. Hawthorn,” said June. “I’ve loved having Maddie for a roommate.”
