CHAPTER 8
Dora and Rafe were getting ready to leave for church the next morning when Maddie and June joined them in the kitchen.
“Good morning,” said Dora. “The coffee is made and there are blueberry muffins in a basket on the table. We have to go in early. I’m teaching Dede’s Sunday school class. Her regular teacher is on bed rest because of a difficult pregnancy.”
“I know how much you enjoy teaching Sunday school,” said Maddie, getting two cups and pouring her and June coffee.
“Yes, I do, but I hope her teacher is doing okay,” said Dora.
“Come on, Dede, were ready to go,” called Rafe as he came down the stairs. “Good morning, Maddie and June.” He came over and kissed each on the cheek before continuing on out the door to get the car.
Dede hurried in and came to give Maddie a hug. S
